Fan Fiction - various drabbles, various fandoms

Today I would like to share the drabbles / double drabbles I've written during the last two week for [profile] drabble_weekly.

Fandom: Jeremiah

Prompt: Thank-you note

„Daddy?“

Smith looked down at his little daughter and smiled.
„What's going on, honey?“

„Sister Hannah wants us to write a thank-you-letter. Do you think it's okay when I write Mr. Markus?“

Smith kept quiet surprised. It was not that Rose and the serious leader of the Mountain had much in common. A heavy burden was weighing on Markus. He cared for every living soul in the Mountain but for sure he was not a very sociable guy.

When Rose visited her father she used to hang around with Michelle; the young woman who tried all to keep the past alive; she never got tired of telling Rose old legends and farie tales. Kurdy was a tall and strong guy but he had a heart of gold; whenever he met Rose he produced a candy cane or one of these glass figurines she loved so much out of his pocket as if by magic. Erin loved all the children of the Mountain and she played with them whenever her time permitted it.

„For what do you want to thank him,“ Smith asked.

Rose's green brown eyes looked serious when she answered.
„For saving the world.“

Prompt: Tough choice

Tears were burning in Erin's eyes. Smith had told her that it was about time to make a decision. But how could she do that? How could she leave the Mountain behind? All the people who were so close to her? How could she leave … Markus?

She had been six years old, her parents dead, like all the other adults, she had been too paralyzed to move. Markus had saved her life. He was fifteen years old and a leader already. He had saved a lot of children who would have been lost without him.

How could she not love him? She was one of the rare people he trusted blind; she was his confident; she knew about his deepest secrets, his future plans, his nightmares. But he would never kiss her, hold her, make love with her.

Because Markus had a mission. A new world, a world where people could live without fear and hunger and war. Without viruses who would kill them mercilessly. A challenge who didn't allow it that he got distracted by only one woman.

For a moment she squeezed her eyes shut. She knew what she had to do. But not today. Maybe tomorrow.

Prompt: Whisper

It was just a whisper in the night, the wind in the trees, the crackling of a campfire. And he knew it would be coming. Before the sun would rise in the morning something dark, evil, dangerous would decent on the Mountain, would reveal that they all had been lulled into a false sense of security.

The fight for a new, better world wasn't over, it was just the beginning. And Smith knew he could do nothing against it but to take up his place as god's messenger again and hope that he would read all his mystery prophecies right.

Fandom: The Faculty

Prompt: hope

Casey's favorite place during lunch-break were the bleachers. The jocks were busy with flirting and bragging around in the cafeteria. And Zeke was making his dubious dealings only some steps away.

They never talked, of course not, Zeke was the cool guy at school and Casey was just the photo-geek. But sometimes their eyes crossed and Zeke smiled. Made Casey's heart flatter and even if it was just for the split of a second, there was a bond between them.

Suddenly Zeke was standing in front of him, watching him with piercing eyes.
„Why don't you tell me what you want,“ he asked.
„Like all the others do.“

Slightly nervous Casey shook his head.
„I don't need your stuff.“

„Of course not. You're the golden boy. You don't need cigarettes or faked ID cards.“
Zeke laughed.
„But I'm sure also you have secret wishes. Maybe I can help you?“

Casey swallowed hard, the pictures, rushing through his mind made him blush. But before he could react, Zeke had grabbed him, pulled him closer and … kissed him.

His world stopped to turn around. Even in his dreams, he had never dared to hope for that.

***

Prompt: Thank-you note

Zeke had never been good with words. He had learned to hide his feelings and better not to trust others. This changed when he met Casey; almost against his own will he fall in love instantly.

Though he knew that this would turn his world around. Casey was a romantic guy. But this was easy. Surprise him with a movie or a trip to the lake at fullmoon and he was happy. Casey was also a geek. Zeke was willing to listen when he didn't want to stop gushing about photography and he didn't mind a phototrip even when it was raining cats and dogs.

The problem was Casey's family. Zeke knew he had acted like an idiot this evening when he had been invited for dinner and flee almost in panic out of the house. Later in the evening, Casey called him.

„You are a shit, Zeke.“
He could hear that Casey was still angry.
„You can thank my mom that I'm still talking to you.“

Strange to think, that Mrs. Connor had taken his side instead of Casey's. And Zeke knew it was about time to overcome his fears and to write her a thank-you note.

And a last one.

Prompt: relax

„Geez, you are so tensed up. What's happened?“

„Just another night in the darkroom. I really need to bring this project for Delilah to an end.“

Zeke smirked.
„ I've warned you; she's a bitch. Give her an inch and she will take all.

C'mere, I will help you to relax.“

Strong hands started to massage his neck, long fingers squeezed stiff shoulders.

„Don't stop,“ Casey complained when he paused.

Zeke chuckled slightly.
„Don't worry, I'm not ready for a long time yet.“
He pulled him onto his arms and took him upstairs, to the bathroom.
