This and that: October 21 - November 05

I know I've promised to be a bit more active around here. So, here I am again with some chatting about my fanish life during the last two weeks.



TV series
- Spooks (MI_5), season 4
Spooks is a British television drama series. It follows the work of a group of MI5 officers.

Still a good series. Today I want to talk about an episode from season three: '3.8'. A very interesting episode; maybe one of the best so far.

The plot is a bit different from the usual stories of the series, which are mostly about terrorism, espionage, and treason. The little son of a recently knighted rock star is kidnapped, and the Government asks the MI5 for help. Only reluctantly they agree.

Interesting (at least for LotR and Hobbit fans ;) ) fact: Andy Serkis plays the role of the drug-and-alcohol addicted rock star, despite his fame a broken guy. His performance is brilliant, even breathtaking sometimes. In a way, his gestures and behavior reminded me a lot of Gollum.

Very touching episode; even you are not into spy stories, I would advise you to watch this one when you have the chance.

- Stromberg
Okay, no one will know about this, it's a German comedy series about an insurance office, and I can't even say that it is very amusing, but for whatever reason, I like to watch it.

Still listening to:

- The strain (part two = The Fall)
The Strain is a vampire horror novel by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. It's the second part of The Strain (part one) Trilogy and is followed by The Night Eternal.


Fanfiction

Writing mood slowly comes back. I did sign up for Mini WriMo again = a kind of Mini Nano, where you can set your personal writing goal. I decided to go for 400 words a day. So far I'm lucky.

I also did sign up for 'Small Fandom Bang.' Yirks... don't know what is gotten into me. 10K minimum. A first draft should be finished at the end of January. I will write 'The Faculty' of course, AU, with a touch of time traveling. Wish me luck, I'm sure, I can need it.
