prisca: (faculty - Zeke hat)

And it's Cazekiel Day again. Hard to believe, isn't it? Let's have some fun with the boys again. Today a story I've written for [community profile] fic_promptly some time ago.

Title: Romeo and Juliet
Fandom: The Faculty
Characters: Casey / Zeke
Prompt: Author's Choice, Author's Choice, Romeo and Juliet is not meant to be a romance!
Word Count: 335 words
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: not mine, of course

Casey rolled his eyes. Alone sharing a table with Zeke took a lot of patience. But working together with him on a presentation at English literature was a pain.

"What do you mean, 'Romeo and Juliet' is not meant to be a romance? What do you think it is?"

Zeke smirked.
"A horror play."

Casey coughed.
"A what? You can't be serious. Did you actually read it?"

"Sure I did. Twice. It's about love and treason and love and death. Horror, like I said. Though I have to admit I prefer Steven King to Shakespeare, his novels have much more potential."

"You compare Shakespeare with King?"
This discussion was ridiculous, wasn't it?
"Great. Tell this in our presentation, and we will get a D in the best case."

Zeke laughed and winked at him.
"Don't worry, Case, you know, Miss Burke loves me."

Casey pulled the face. Oh, yeah, of course. How could he overlook the fact the teacher obviously had a secret crush at Zeke, like almost every girl at school? And Zeke seemed to enjoy this game and knew to take advantage out of it.

Annoyed Casey grabbed for his exercise book and stuffed it into his backpack. Enough was enough. But when he wanted to rush out of the library, Zeke hold him back.

"Hey, wait. I've already worked out a first draft of our presentation. If you want to have a look at it."

Full of distrust Casey stared at the papers, the boy had put on the table in front of him. Zeke chuckled slightly.
"Don't worry, it's not about horror and King. I praise good old Shakespeare as if he's the god of writing. And of course, we will get an A-plus."
He shrugged.
"Not that I do care much, but I know you do."

Casey exhaled audibly while he dropped down onto the wooden chair again and grabbed for the draft.
"You can be such a pain in the ass, Zeke," he said.

Zeke grinned wide.
"I know."
