prisca: (ava - love you friend)
I'm back home from the baltic sea since Saturday already, but I needed some time to settle in again.

It was a nice trip; even the weather decided to play along. Not much sun, but no rain either, not too cold for some walks along the sea, which I did enjoy so much.

I also visited the hotel's pool every day; one day, I went to the bigger water park because I was curious. They did build up a new kid's area, which my grandchildren will hopefully enjoy when we go there in May. I prefer the pool with artificial waves, though ;).

Best of the trip was that a good friend of mine joined me for two days; we could clink glasses at midnight and celebrate my birthday a bit, and of course, we did chat a lot. It was so great to meet her again; even better that she enjoyed the trip so much that she told me that we want to do this again at least next year around my birthday :)

(Sorry for no pictures, I admit I was much too distracted to take some. Hope to do better in May, when I go back there together with my sons, my daughter in law and my two grandchildren)

Finally here it is ;)

It was a great trip I did enjoy so much. Okay, the arrival was not so much fun. I did go by train, which I usually like, but it was the hottest day of the week and the train was much too overcrowded. And when I finally reached my terminal station there was no free cab far and wide to bring me to the holiday resort, so I had to wait for about half an hour in the burning sun.

But when I finally reached my hotel every stress fell off within a second or so. I was at Weissenhäuser Strand before with my children, and I always loved it to be there, but this was about 20 years ago, and I was not sure if it would be still the same. But it felt like coming home :)

So often I feel stressed out and tired but when I was there it felt as if nothing else did exist any more than the sea, the wind, the waves, the seagulls. Every day I went down to the sea to sit there at a bench on the sea bridge for an hour or so. I did take short walks along the boardwalk and had lunch at a small bistro right at the sea. The weather was perfect, not too hot. One day we even had pretty stormy weather and I did love this.

Every day in the afternoon I went back to my hotel, and after a short rest, I visited the hotel pool with a big wellness area. I did enjoy it very much, though I'm not a big sauna- and wellness friend. But the two pools and the whirlpool were great. And not overcrowded because most of the visitors prefer to go to the big waterpark of the resort.

Later I went to the 'village square' of the resort to have dinner (very yummy). When I got home around 8.00 o'clock my feet were hurting like hell but I felt sooo totally satisfied; I couldn't have been happier.

It was difficult to say goodbye after three great days, but I found a good solution to make it easier:

I've already booked my next trips to Weissenhäuser Strand. ;)

Tomorrow I will make a short trip to the Baltic Sea. And (to my own surprise) I am sooo looking forward to it.

It was a speedy last minute decision, and I did book the room before I could change my mind about it. It's a small holiday resort only some steps away from the sea, and I did go there ages ago together with my children for some times. I always loved it, though the children were more interested in the waterpark and videogames than in walks along the beach.

This time it will be different, I can do whatever I want, which means that I don't make any plans but I will follow my mood. Walks along the beach; sitting on a bench, listening to an audiobook, probably swimming in the pool of the hotel (not the water park; though it is great, but it's more for action, not for relaxing).

Probably I will tell you more when I am back on Sunday. :)

Love you all.
