I am heartbroken.

Half an hour ago my Tiger passed away. Without any warning, okay, he was a bit restless last night, but I was sure that is is just the heatwave. Beside of that, he seemed to be okay.

We were both sitting on the couch together like we always did in the afternoon, he was sleeping, suddenly he miaoued loudly, and a moment later it was over.

I feel so paralyzed. He was the one who was always there for me, when my father died, when my mother died, when I sold the house and moved into my condo. He was a friend who always knew to comfort me when I was feeling bad. Now I feel so lost and alone (I guess this is the prize when you don't have much of a social life)

Oh my God, Pris, I am so very sorry! I am heartbroken for you! I can't imagine the pain you're going through. I'm sending you all the love your way. I remember you talking about Tiger through the years...

I am so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose a member of our fur family. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that Tiger knew how much he was loved.

Yesterday I called the vet and they gave the number of a mortician for animals. It was hard to make the call, but in a way also a relief. I decided on a cremation but that I don't want to have back his ash and they will scatter it in a nearby wood. They have pictures on their website and it looks like a very peaceful place.

Great, now I'm crying again. But that's okay, I guess it will hurt for a long time to remember him, but it will get easier with every day. It's always like that, isn't it? Life is not always happiness and fun.

That's a good solution for you. I had a kitty die in 2009, I think it was, and I had him cremated, too.
