I hope all of you have/had a nice, relaxing Sunday.
The day started great, despite the grey and rainy weather, because I knew I would go to the movie theater in the afternoon. And because I hate the traffic in the big city, it makes me so nervous even to think about it; I decided to go by train. I like traveling that way, though a lot of people don't understand. For me, it is much more relaxing.
The movie I did watch:

the extanded version
It was breathtaking to see this movie on a big screen again. I'm still in love and full of awe for all the little details PJ added. This is why the movies are special, this and the brilliant cast. I admit I had tears in my eyes when Sam stepped on the screen for the first time (it's in the shire, with some flowers in his hands you can see on my icon). And Haldir (Craig Parker - this guy rocked the first Ring Con ever together with Mark Ferguson Gil Galad) So many memories. So many moments which made me smile. And cry. Though I have to admit that I am not getting emotional touched so deeply like I did when I watched the movie for the first time. I guess this happens when you have watched a movie umpteenth times. But don't get me wrong, this doesn't worsen the movie, not at all - it gives you the chance to see it with different eyes and to discover all the little details you might have missed first.
To make a long story short, I have had a hell of a lot fun this afternoon, and I can't wait for next Sunday to go back for 'Two Towers'. The Return of the King will follow on January 27. :)
But now back to traveling by train. After the movie, I did check out the timetable. Fine, only 30 minutes of waiting. Then: train canceled. Hm. The next goes 10 minutes later, no problem. Then: train canceled. Uff. The next one goes about 40 minutes later. Okay, enough time to have a coffee. No need to freak out.
Suddenly the announcement: Momentarily we have some technical problems with some of our trains. Please wait for more info.
Ähm... great. About hundred and more people are already waiting at the info counter to find out more. I finally manage it to reach one of the guys working there, asking:" Hello, all I want is to go home to C." - "Hm, yes, we are offering a rail replacement bus service." "Where can I find this?" "RBS." "???" "On the left side." Ähm, okay...
Once again walking across the station again, and I'm finally lucky to find the exit to the bus station. Only to face another problem. No one, and I mean no one, around to tell people where to go, which bus is the right one for them. Hundreds of clueless people, everyone with a different travel destination. Of course, no one I met wanted to go to C. ... where the heck do I living?
Finally, a bus arrived; after about ten minutes the driver decided to open the door and to put his head out, trying to understand all the various questions of the waiting people. No, I'm not going to x, and not to Y, I'm only going to Z. Fine, but I want to go to C. Then you will have to wait for one of the other busses which will arrive sometime soon.
At this time I had already waited for about 60 minutes, and I still didn't know anything about how or even if I would be able to go home soon. It had started to rain again, and I felt so tired and frustrated, that I finally decided to make a step in another direction. To leave all the madness behind and to go home by cab. Which actually was waaay to expensive, but at least about 45 minutes later I finally was back in C., and the cabby got a nice tip because he was really a very nice guy.
To make me feel better again, I made a stop at my favorite greek to buy a doner roll. Which is great (**smirk**) because I am wildly resolved to lose some weight this year (it's definitely needed with my blood pressure so high). But hey, after this adventure I needed some comfort food.
Really, at the moment I don't want to think about next week. I am still so excited to go back to watch the movie(s), but I am also a bit nervous about the train stuff. Though I guess stuff like this shouldn't happen once a week - I am traveling by train since years now, and beside of some smaller delays I always reached my destination without problems.
Okay, end of babbling for today. Thanks if you tried to follow me up to the end. :) Hugs and lots of love.
