Title: Reboot
Summary:
Killing the alien queen, which had threatened to take over the world, brings not the hoped-for salvation for the humankind. Instead of this, a virus is set free and causes the death of all adult people.
Some time later. A group of surviving teenagers from Herrington, a small town in Ohio, slowly come to terms with the new circumstances and start to move on. Only Casey, the boy who had tried to save the world by standing up against the alien queen, is heartbroken and blames himself for bringing death over the world.
Until one day, a strange, little guy (Mr. Smith) arrives in Herrington and sends him on a mission.
Note: My series will have three main places.
1. Herrington, a small town in Ohio (loosely based on the original movie The Faculty)
2. Casey and Zeke on the road
3. 'The Mountain' = a former hidden armee laboratory (loosely based on the original TV series Jeremiah)
Why Did You Choose To Create This Work?
Maybe the one or the other will remember the movie 'The Faculty' and/or the TV show 'Jeremiah'?
I started writing a crossover series about these two fandoms some time ago. And it feels like a great idea to make a TV series out of this stuff. Bringing all my favorite characters (and some new ones) together back on screen sounds like so much fun.

The first header for my TV series

Let's start with the main cast.
1. Casey Conner - He is small, with brown hair and bright blue eyes. He looks not very strong, but when people he cares about are in danger, he doesn't hesitate to do what has to be done.
Like when fighting an alien queen was the last chance for the world, but the result (the death of all adults) almost breaks him. He has nightmares, barely talks to others; only Zeke and Stokely can break through his shell at least now and then.
Until one day, he meets Mr. Smith, and with his mysterious prophecies, the strange guy finally gives him a reason to move on.

I can't imagine casting someone other than Elijah Wood for this role. Elijah = Casey forever.
2. Zeke Tyler - He is slender, with brown hair and hazelnut brown eyes. In highschool, he had been the rebel who didn't care much about rules and other people. A kind of a lonely wolf.
After the alien incident, he is the one who finds Casey unconscious, lying under the gym, and this changes everything for him. From now on, he is a kind of guard for Casey, one of the leaders of the small group of teenagers who looks for shelter in an old hotel in Herrington after their whole world is turned around.

The same here. Josh Hartnett = Zeke forever. No way that someone else takes over this role.
3. Mr. Smith = He is small, a bit plump, maybe. He always wears an old coat and a big backpack where he hides all his possessions. It's not much because he has lived on the road for a long time. He has lost all; can't remember his former life, not even his name. All he knows is that there is a voice in his head - God's voice - that tells him what to do next. People often are afraid and/or angry about him; they call him a weirdo, and he gets chased away or even beaten down.

Sean Astin played Mr. Smith in the original TV series, and, no, I can imagine someone else taking over this role.
Next, we are coming to (still important for my series) minor characters, which I will re-cast differently from the original.
1. Herrington
4. Stokely Mitchell = The girl was a loner before the alien incident, often called the lesbian gothic girl by others because she loved to wear black clothes and never was close to others. Now, she is an important part of the Herrington group; she loves to wear colorful clothes and dyes her hair in red and blue.
She often comes up with clever ideas for the most complicated problems and helps to make the new life for everyone much easier. She is one of the people who can reach Casey even in his darkest moments and a close friend of Zeke.

I would cast Margot Robbie because she looked great as Harley Quinn, which is how I picture my Stokely.
5. Deliah Profitt - She is pretty. Long hair, glasses. Still loves to style up whenever possible, though no one cares about this anymore.
At school, she had been the leader of the cheerleader group and the publisher of the school's magazine. She has always acted like the queen of Herrington High and used most others, and a part of her still does. But inside also she has changed, and she takes care of a baby she found in an abandoned mall.

I would cast an Indian actress for her role: Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
2. On the Road
6. Unknown girl, later named Rose - A little girl, Casey and Zeke meet on their way to the Mountain. She is living in the basement of a bar/whorehouse. The owner is not her father, but because her mother is gone, he offers her a place to stay. Besides that, he has enough to do with his own life and doesn't care much about her. He doesn't even know her name.
Rose is shy and doesn't talk much. Brown hair, green-brown eyes. She initially hides from Casey and Zeke, but in the end, Casey can earn her trust.

I would cast the British actress Elodie Blomfield for her role.
3. The Mountain
7. Markus Alexander - He is a serious, unapproachable young man, slender, with short-cut hair. Always wear denim and long-sleeved, black shirts. As a child, he saw his mother die, and before his father vanished without coming back, he made him promise never to stop believing in the good of people.
He found refuge in an abandoned military lab after the virus, and soon enough, more and more people were gathering around him. His dream to make the world a better place again gives them hope in dark times.
But there are others, who are enjoying the chaos and enmity of the world, not interested in peace. And Markus knows that there will be lots of fights, loss, and grief before the end. He does all to prepare 'his people' for the worst case.

I would cast Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Markus just because I could. I love him as an actor and want him to take over a role in my TV series.
8. Erin Kaufman - While Markus is the leader of the Mountain, she is the heart of it. Everyone loves the calm and friendly young woman. Brown hair, slender.
Markus trusts her blind; he lets her in on many thoughts, plans, and fears no one else knows about. Erin loves Markus, but she has accepted that she will never be more than his friend and confidant.

I would cast Alyson Hannigan for her role because she looks like I picture Erin.
9. Kurdy Malloy - A big guy of color, a beard, loves to wear a head cloth, with a soft heart for children and animals. One day, he turned up at the Mountain, and he stayed. First alone, he completes the orders from Markus; later, he meets Mr. Smith, who insists on being his partner from now on.

Another original cast from the TV show 'Jeremiah,' because I can't imagine someone other than Malcolm Jamal-Warner in this role. Sorry, not sorry.
God
In the original series 'Jeremiah' God only exists in Mr. Smith's head. It is time to give him a voice, at least.
10. God - His voice is booming, loud, dark. Sometimes sad and tired. The things he has to say are mysterious, and the meaning of his prophecies mostly hard to understand. He can be cruel and relentless to get what he wants.
God only speaks to Mr. Smith at first; later also Rose can hear his voice (much calmer than it uses to be when talking to Mr. Smith).

I would cast Dennis Haybert as the voice of God. He will never turn up in person in my show.

Because this would get much too long, I have decided to make a separate post for the scenes. Go here!
