Snowflake 2004 - Challenge 3
Jan. 6th, 2024 10:30 pm
Create a wish list of fandom things (podfic, graphics, playlists, canon recs translations, research help, vids, sky's the limit!) that you'd like to receive.
This challenge is always tricky because I don't like to ask others to create something for me. So, why not choose a different way?
1. My first wish is not for myself but for a community, I mod for a while already.
Today we are open to all kinds of fandoms/fanworks. We also appreciate real-person work and original work. But sadly, the LJ Community is on a hiatus because of the lack of activity.
Also activity at Dreamwidth is gradually decreasing during the last one/two years. While I can understand that people start to move on after a while, it still feels sad. I don't want to give up a community which already exists for 13 years.
So I ask you: If you are looking for a low-pressure community that offers 4 (sometimes 5) challenges throughout a month, come and check us out here. If you decide to stay (for a while), even better :)

2. I am always looking for interesting TV series/movies and audiobooks. Everything but hardcore horror; and without animals getting tormented.
So, tell me about your favorite TV series, movies, and audiobooks. What did you enjoy most during the last months/year?

Date: 2024-01-06 10:19 pm (UTC)RE TV series, my favourite thing from last year was Dark. I was very late to that particular party and came to Dark after watching 1899 (still smarting that it didn't get renewed). Also enjoyed Good Omens and Midnight Diner. Apart from that, TV from last year seems to be one big blur so I'm sure I'm missing stuff I loved at the time. :)

Date: 2024-01-07 01:06 am (UTC)I've seen a few Asian series recently that I enjoyed: Eternal Love and Eternal Love of Dream are full of fantasy elements - beautiful costumes etc
Yin Yang Master: Dream of Eternity was a good movie

Date: 2024-01-07 09:59 pm (UTC)this year I have been rewatching Yuri on Ice lots and lots. (only watched for the first time in February.) I'm not sure what all you might mean by "animals getting tormented", so I'll say there's pet death immediately preseries (canon gives no details on how) and then a pet health scare in later episodes (nobody deliberately harms the pet, but there's no way the pet wasn't scared and in pain), both of which are important plot points and also involve only two of the at-least-nine pets of the various characters, and I posted my first impressions and other content notes (not animal related), and let me know if you want me to go into why I like it?
