Das Böse im Herzen by J.D.Robb (Eve Dalles 38)
English Version: Concealed in Death
German Narrator: Tanja Geke
The billionaire Roarke buys an abandoned building, soon discovering it hides a dark secret. The skeletons of twelve young girls are hidden between the walls.
His wife, Eve Dalles, a Detective of the New York Police, is determined to find the killer, even if the girls obviously have been dead for over ten years already.
My Opinion
First, I want to say how much I love this series; it's a mixture of crime with a touch of science fiction (the story takes place in the future). There is always a case to solve, plus some main characters' backstory that develops throughout the series. The main characters and the recurring side characters are great (maybe sometimes a bit too perfect).
'Concealed in Death' is the 38th book of the series. Despite the cruel crime, it never gets too explicit. The story is touching and sad, but some funny parts are added, too. And a touch of sex - you will find one or two of these scenes in every book.
I enjoyed hearing the book so much and even dare to say that it is one of the best of the series, especially the story itself.

Irish Feelings: Als ich dich küsste by Emma Wagner
German Narrator: Nadine Zaddam
only available in German
Burdened with many problems, Aeryn returns to her native village in Ireland, where she meets Liam again. The guy who had broken her heart once. Also, Liam is not amused to run into her again; he struggles with his past and is still looking for a way to move on.
But Greycastlehill is only a tiny place, and Aeryn's mother wildly resolved to bring her daughter together with this good-looking, young man...
My Opinion
Well, I am not telling more about the story, but maybe you can already figure out how this will go. I can't deny that the story is very (very, very) predictable; it's nothing that will give you sleepless nights because you can't stop thinking about it. But does this make the story a bad one? No, not for me. If you like a lighthearted, funny story with some mini dark, sad moments, then you will be able to enjoy this book.
All characters are portrayed brilliantly (though you probably won't find so many perfect characters in one place in RL). And I will admit that I enjoyed some side characters even a bit more than the main characters.
In conclusion, the book offered a few hours of nice entertainment, and that's all I expected. I wouldn't want to listen to books like this constantly, but if I am in the mood for some romantic and light stuff next time, I will remember that there are some more 'Irish Feelings' books by Emma Wagner playing in the same universe, but standing alone stories.
