Hello F-List! Hello LJ! Yes, I'm still alive!
And I'm still writing a bit. I think, this will be a new series, though I don't know exactly where things will leading to. We will see ...
Today the first part of "Pictures" - read it if you want to, maybe you will like it a bit. Comments are always welcome!

Title: Pictures (1 / ??? )
Fandom: Casey / Zeke (no pairing)
Rating: PG 13
Disclaimer: of course, not mine
Zeke muttered quietly to himself. The wiper ran on full tours, but nevertheless, he had to drive slowly because he could hardly see the street in front of him. Suddenly he saw him. He crouched down under a tree, the hood of his coat was pulled down over his face.
Zeke frowned and slowed down. Casey Connor? He had seen him just blurred, but he was sure about it. It was Casey Connor! He knew him from school. Everybody knew Casey, though he was an absolute loner. Although he was one of the best of his class in nearly every school subject, not even the teachers really liked him, probably no one except for Mr. Brown. He was the teacher of the art course - and he shared Casey's love for photographic art.
His school mates used to ignore him - except Gabe and the other jocks of the football team. They loved to suppress and to humiliate Casey and they were proud if they could make him cry. What happened only seldom. Because Casey was strong, stronger than he supposed to be on the first sight.
What he was doing under this tree now, though he was living nearly on the other side of the town, though it was raining cats and dogs, was a mystery for Zeke. Then he remembered a photo project that Casey had done last summer: Stones! Great stones, small stones, bright stones, dark stones. Alone and assembled. He hadn't understood the meaning of the pictures, but he had to admit, they were somehow impressing. Maybe Casey was just doing a new photo project now?
Finally Zeke decided to drive back and to see if everything was all right. When he stopped beside Casey, he felt immediately that something was wrong. No camera in sight. Casey was just cowering there. He didn't even react when he stepped beside him.
"Casey?"
He seemed to withdraw even deeper into himself, as if he hoped to be invisible for everyone, especially for Zeke.
"Piss off!"
Zeke frowned. It was untypical for Casey to be so aggressive.
"What's up?"
No reaction anymore. He put a hand on Casey's shoulder and felt him shivering.
"Hey," Zeke tried it again. Finally Casey looked up to him. The hood fell back and Zeke could see into his face. He startled.
"Oh fuck!"
He had seen Casey with a bloody nose, with a black eye before, but this was worse than usual. One eye was swollen, his upper lip was split, in little bit dried blood stuck in the corner of it.
"Who on earth was this? Gabe?"
Casey pushed his hand away and shook his head.
Only seldom Zeke had felt as helpless as in this moment. Normally he didn't care a lot about other people, but Casey needed help, that was obvious. He only wanted to be left alone. But he was not in the condition to stand here any longer. Although the tree protected him a bit against the rain, he was wet and cold. He was shivering more and more with every minute. His wounds needed to be treated.
"Go ahead, Case," he murmured.
"I'm gonna give you a drive home!"
Casey snorted.
"I'm gonna go nowhere!"
"You cannot stay here, damn! You'll have to take off these wet clothes! Or you will catch your death of cold!"
Casey shrugged.
"As if anyone cares about it!"
Slowly Zeke became more and more impatient. He had quite enough of standing in the rain and try to calm Casey. He grabbed him by his arm and pulled him up. Casey struggled against his clutch, but it was only a half-hearted attempt to escape. Zeke pulled him to the car and pressed him into the passenger seat. Here he huddled up again and didn't say another word.
It was not until Zeke turned into his street that he looked up.
"I've said it before: I don't go home!"
Zeke believed to understand. Obviously Casey didn't want to be seen by his parents in this state. He was ashamed for the fact that it happened over and over again. He never struck back, he always let it happen. Maybe he believed that his parents were disappointed because of his weakness and helplessness ...
"Case! You don't have to be ashamed, okay? Your parents will understand! Gabe is just a jock!"
"Aw, shut up, Zeke! It was not Gabe, do you get it? And I can't go home!"
Something in Casey's voice let Zeke prick up his ears. There was not only defiance, there was ... Desperation? Fear?
"Okay, okay," he murmured.
"I get it! You don't want to go home. Where then? Do you have a friend where you can stay?"
Casey laughed bitterly.
"Friends? Pfft! No one cares about me!"
"Damn, Casey! We can't stay here for the whole afternoon!"
"Why couldn't you leave me just alone?"
Zeke sighed and cursed inwardly. Yes, what was got into him when he picked him up? He had nothing to do with him. He didn't care about him. He had a lot of own problems to deal with and he definitely not needed Casey's too. Everyone should be able to fight for oneself. He had learned this during the last years, since his mom died and his dad decided for a new life with this young bitch beside him, who was not ready to deal with a defiant teen boy. It was high time for Casey to grow up too.
He could just threw him out of the car and leave it to him to go home or not. But he knew he wouldn't go. In spite of the rain he would crawl up somewhere, waiting for whatever ...
Finally he made a decision. He turned the car and went back to the main road. Casey looked up.
"What are you doing?"
"Well, what do you think? I'm not intent to spend the whole afternoon with you in this car! I'm fucking wet and I just want to have a coffee now!"
"You don't have to do this! Just let me out here! I can cope with it alone."
"Aw, shut up!"
